Premier Restorative Dental Care for Children
Zoo Crew provides excellent restorative dental care to children. Restorative dentistry treats diseases of the teeth to restore them to optimal health. Below, we’ve outlined an in-depth look at the four types of the premier restorative dental care offered at our office.
Fillings repair damage to the structure of a weakened tooth and fill in an area that has been drilled out to remove decay, such as a cavity. After we remove the decayed material and we clean the inside of the tooth, we fill and restore the tooth. Composite fillings are made from resins matching your tooth’s color, so they become invisible when applied.
A dental crown is a permanent dental appliance used to protect damaged teeth and keep them from cracking or breaking. A stainless-steel crown is commonly used to cap and or replace missing primary teeth parts. Crowns are fitted, trimmed, and placed on the tooth in need.
A chipped tooth can happen more easily than we’d care to admit, especially during childhood. If your child chips a tooth, don’t panic. Unless your child is in pain, a chipped tooth is usually not serious. Regardless of if your child is in pain or not, give us a call so we can asses the damage and bond, fill, or cap the tooth if possible.
If a tooth decays, cracks, or breaks, it may be necessary to extract the tooth to maintain dental health depending on the extent of the damage. A child’s needs to be extracted if it’s badly decayed to the point where it cannot be restored. A tooth should also be extracted if is fractured beyond the point of repair.
